
Dr. Ralph Garcia
Dr. Ralph Garcia received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Emory University in 1962. He completed his military service in the United States Air force and served as Chief of Prosthetics at Lockbourne Air Force Base, Ohio. Presently he is engaged in private practice treating temporomandibular joint disorders. Dr. Garcia has invented multiple appliances used in the treatment of complex orthopedic/orthodontic cases. At the University of South Florida College of Medicine, he served as dental consultant for temporomandibular joint imaging in the department of radiology working with arthrography, tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging.
He trained under Dr. William Farrar and Dr. Bernard Jankelson and is recognized as a pioneer in radio frequency lesioning of the posterior disk ligaments, neuromuscular dentistry, and orthopedic/orthodontic and prosthetic finalization of temporomandibular joint cases. Dr. Garcia is the founder and director of the Bay Area Center for Craniomandibular Disorders in Tampa, Florida, where he educates doctors from throughout the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and lectures to doctors worldwide. Dr. Garcia was named Clinician of the Year in 2001 by the American Association for Functional Orthodontics.
