Webinar – Orthodontic Mechanics Used to Improve Smile Aesthetics

February 22 @ 5:00 pm 7:00 pm

Instructor: Dr Jim Prittinen

In Orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning, profile improvement (occlusion) is often emphasized more than smile enhancement. However, many studies show that patients are more concerned about the frontal view of the smile than the profile. Therefore, improving the “smile” should be of equal importance to improving the profile in Orthodontic treatment.

The 8 major components of the smile will be presented. How to incorporate these components into Orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning will also be discussed. The differences between the elements of smile aesthetics which can be improved with conventional Orthodontic treatment, and the elements that cannot be improved will also be examined.

Upon completion of this course the participant will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Explain the importance of the frontal view of the smile.
  • Identify the 8 components of the smile.
  • Describe which elements of smile aesthetics can be improved with conventional Orthodontic treatment.
