D406 – Orthodontic Diagnosis – Start to Finish
June 8, 2025 @ 7:00 am – 12:00 pm
INSTRUCTOR: Dr. Jim Prittinen
This course will provide the participant with diagnostic techniques that can be used before treatment begins and during treatment, especially when things are not going as expected. Tooth movement basics and how archwire bends affect tooth movement will be discussed. These principles as they relate to bite opening and Class II correction, will then be investigated. These mechanics presented are techniques that the Clinician can use in all comprehensive treatment cases. The basic USDI diagnostic system and outline of treatment sequencing will also be reviewed.
Upon completion of this course the participant will demonstrate the ability to:
- Visualize treatment results and understand how this technique is used to formulate a treatment plan.
- Identify how muscle strength determines which treatment plan to select.
- Recognize the advantages and disadvantages to various treatment plans related to the type of malocclusion.
