CA550 – Aligner Essentials: IPR, Attachments and Case Selection Mastery

November 16, 2025 @ 7:00 am – 12:00 pm

INSTRUCTOR: Dr Miguel Matuk

Aligner Essentials: IPR, Attachments, and Case Selection Mastery is a focused training designed to give clinicians the core skills needed to deliver predictable clear aligner treatment. This course emphasizes three pillars of aligner success: intelligent case selection, effective attachment design, and precise interproximal reduction (IPR). Participants will learn how to identify the right cases, apply biomechanically sound attachment strategies, and plan IPR efficiently to maximize treatment outcomes and minimize refinements. By combining evidence-based principles with practical tips, this course equips dentists with the confidence to expand their aligner practice and deliver consistent, high-quality results.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate and select aligner cases based on complexity, biomechanics, and patient goals.
  • Differentiate between simple, moderate, and complex cases to determine aligner suitability.
  • Design and position attachments for optimized control of tooth movements including rotation, extrusion, intrusion, and torque.
  • Apply practical staging strategies to improve aligner tracking and treatment predictability.
  • Perform accurate and efficient interproximal reduction (IPR) for space creation and midline/arch coordination.
