This course will review the theory, technique, and efficient application of the straight wire appliance. Expectations and limitations of the appliance are demonstrated, and adjunctive mechanics are utilized to reach treatment goals of progressive difficulty.
Course objectives: the participant in this course will learn to:

• Achieve molar control with tip back, toe in, and step bends
• Manage canted occlusal planes
• Diagnose and manage midline issues
• Discern when excessive flaring of the incisors will be a problem and understand the steps necessary to help prevent this from happening
• Use TPAs and understand their indications for use
