The Basic Mechanic Series of courses includes hands-on bracket bonding to a typodont and the proper sequence placement of various arch wires. The size and alloy differences between round, rectangular, and square arch wires will be discussed as well as auxiliary attachments and power units. A Class I crowded case will be completed on a wax articulator to mimic real life tooth movement and provide hands-on experience. A hot water bath similar to those used in post-graduate orthodontic programs will be used to simulate tooth movement.
